VSSA Club

Objective

The social service activities have been identified as such activities where students could contribute their talent and ideas in improving the social status of the downtrodden and the deprived. To start these activities in the campus, an association has been formed which is known as "Vivekananda Social Service Association" (VSSA). The association plans to work mainly in the following fields:

• To improve literacy level.
• To generate political and human rights awareness and
• To eradicate various social evils prevailing in the society.

Protection of environment and natural resources is the foremost priority of the young generation so that the future generations could survive and live a healthy life. We have already started witnessing the adverse effects of the damage caused by us due to indiscriminate use of natural resources in the form of water scarcity, regular famines, waterborne diseases, erratic climatic conditions, etc.

To create awareness about protection & conservation of environment and introduce the philosphy pf Reduce Recycle and Reuse a club has been formed which is known as "Eco-Friends Club". The club mainly work mainly in the following fields:

• To make the students eco-friendly.
• To generate awareness on various aspects of 'Water, Environment & Sanitation' (WES).
• Conservation of Environment.

Activities:

• Celebration of special days such as Environment Day, Water Day, Education Day, Anti-tobacco Day etc.
• Tree Plantation.
• Blood Donation Camp.
• Literacy: Conducting teaching classes for the children of workers engaged in building construction in the campus.
• Visit to old age home, Institutions for mentally retarded children etc.
• Visit to sanctuaries, National park etc.
• Power Point Presentations.
• Poster Making Competitions.
• Quiz.
• Essay Competitions.
• To hold Rallies on National Days and on various social issues
